Ryan Broyles is going to make a big impact in the NFL. I don’t get that feeling too often anymore when I watch college football, but I got that feeling watching Broyles on Saturday night. I know that the leap from the college game to the pro game is a big one, but something about the way Broyles plays just makes it seem like he would fit perfectly into a pro-style offense.

Broyles is good but I dont think he’d be as effective without Stills on the other side. Having Stills on the other side really opens things up for him and allows him to put up all these #’s. Stills tore us up… but after this weeeknd watching Blackmon and how powerful he is… I think by far hes the best of the 3 and will make the biggest impact on Sundays. Either way, I hate both of your teams lol

Wolverines are now 0-4 against Michigan State since 2007. Rich Rodriguez couldn’t beat the Spartans and apparently Brady Hoke can’t either. Denard was ineffective. He couldn’t find any rhythm in the passing game, and only picked up 42 yards on the ground. He seemed completely flustered by the Spartan blitz packages, which means that Michigan State may have just drawn up the blueprint on how to beat him.

5-1 is pretty surprising. I mean, a one-point win over Navy is not really anything to write home about, but 5-1 is 5-1. A win over Louisville on Friday night and cracking the top 25 might be a distinct possibility.

We should of had that Louisville game, still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth but we’ve bounced back pretty good against USF & Army. Hopefully we can end the season at 9-3 with a win with Cincinnati coming to HPS stadium & on the road against UCONN

Denard Robinson is unquestionably one of the most exciting players in college football, but he really needs to limit his mistakes if Michigan is going to remain in serious Big Ten contention. The hardest part of their schedule is coming up, with games against Michigan State, Illinois and Nebraska still remaining, as well as Ohio State, which is never an easy game. The huge second half and 28 unanswered points helped resurrect the Wolverines, but Robinson’s 3 interceptions is what put them in that 24-14 halftime hole. Better teams will capitalize on those mistakes and make Michigan pay, so Robinson has to start being more careful with the football.

Reading that just made me think of the Eagles and Mike Vick. Both teams might be in trouble with their QBs. Denard is actually putting W’s on the board… but i’m stiiilllll a little worried when I see him running around like that. I hope he does well cause hes exciting as hell to watch, but the turnovers need to be limited if they can run the table

      • Avatar Image

I agree, I’m definitely reminded of a young Mike Vick when I watch Denard. Two of his three interceptions on Saturday night came from throwing off of his back foot, something that Vick used to do a lot of (and still does) when he’s trying force something from the pocket. Hoke has to help Denard limit his mistakes, but without neutralizing what makes him so effective.

Luckily, Tajh Boyd is only probable for next week’s game against Maryland and will likely make the start. Even without Boyd for most of the second half, the Tigers still managed to roll up 500 yards of total offense against a weak Boston College team. But Maryland is not Boston College, and they’re going to need Boyd’s dynamic play-making ability against the Terps next week. This team is looking like one of the most exciting in college football right now, and as long as they both stay undefeated, the October 29th game at Georgia Tech is going to be biggest game of the year in the ACC. With the way both offenses are piling up yards right now, there’s a good chance the Yellow Jackets and Tigers may combine for 1,500 yards of offense in that game, as ridiculous as that sounds.

Boyd is cleared to play. Only thing thats different about Maryland and Boston College is the hideous new uniforms you guys have. Who are you, the team from Oregon? With Boyd healthy this should be another W for Clemson and step towards the ACC championship

      • Avatar Image

I can definitely see a Clemson-Georgia Tech rematch in the ACC Championship, only this time I think that Clemson gets revenge for 2009 and finally gets that BCS bid. We’ll see though, there’s still a lot of season left to be played.

Rutgers’ win over Pittsburgh on Saturday was incredibly impressive for a team that criminally underachieved last season. A 2-0 start in Big East play is important in helping this young team gain confidence, especially with a true freshman now leading the offense. The defense came out with another strong showing, limiting the damage caused by Ray Graham, Pitt’s star back. Although Graham gained 165 yards on 21 carries, his impact on the outcome of the game was muffled by a poor passing attack, capped by three Tino Sunseri interceptions. A win in each of the next two weeks against Navy and Louisville, two beatable opponents, can put Rutgers into the Top 25 conversation going into the big October 29th showdown against West Virginia.

As of right now, my Heisman vote would go to Andrew Luck, simply because he is the heart and soul of the Stanford Cardinal right now. Despite losing Jim Harbaugh to the NFL at the end of last season, Luck chose to stick around and once again has the Cardinal right in the thick of BCS contention at #7. Although you can certainly make a case for guys like Russell Wilson, Trent Richardson or Tyrann Mathieu, Luck means more to his team than anyone else in college football right now, which makes his performances week in and week out that much more impressive.

Come on guy!!! No love for RG3??? Guy still puts up ridiculous numbers, i know people say our schedule isnt the best, but look who Luck has played? Stanford hasnt played one top 25 team yet… and only top 25 team they do play is Oregon and they’ll lose that week. RG3 & Baylor all the way!

      • Avatar Image

I’m a huge RG3 supporter, and I’ll bump him up to the top of my list if he can put up the same kind of numbers these next two weeks against A&M and Oklahoma State, two huge games if they want to make some waves in the Big 12. If RG3 can keep them competitive against OSU, or better yet, if he can beat OSU, then I’ll have to reconsider.

    • Avatar Image

Stanford has only beaten one team with a winning record, and that was Duke. He needs to win against better competition before he is crowned, although it seems he already has. Unfortunately this is a very down year for the Pac 12 so he really only faces one true test. He has to win the shootout versus Oregon. One test shouldn’t make a heisman, but it will this year.

      • Avatar Image

and us coming in on the 22nd. People shouldnt be writing us off. Price has looked great and the Huskies will be ready to rip off Lucks FAAACEEEE. AND EAT HIS CHILDREN!!!!!!!

    • Avatar Image

Even though Luck is the best quarterback in college football, I feel like he will be over looked when it comes to the Heisman. It is the old east coast bias that will end up costing him the votes. When your games don’t start until 10pm in the east, most of the voters are not watching. Also, people expect astronomical things from him and if he does not put up video game like numbers, he will not win.

      • Avatar Image

I think last year was his time to be overlooked though. Now, he’s pretty much front-and-center in all of the Heisman talks and he’s practically a lock to be the #1 overall pick in the draft next year, so I don’t think his lack of visibility is what will hurt him. If anything, I think it will be the lack of top-tier opponents.
